Dr. Michael T. Gallagher
Dr. Michael Gallagher is an Anaconda native and a graduate of Anaconda High School where he was a multi-sport athlete and scholar. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Carroll College in 1986 and went to medical school at the University Of Chicago Pritzker School Of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic training at the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1995. Dr. Gallagher completed an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia in 1996 and is one of few fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons in Montana. He is the team physician for the Anaconda Copperheads and can often be seen on the sidelines at football games.

Jennifer Heglund, PA-C
Jennifer was born and raised in Pocatello Idaho, yet has strong familial ties to the Butte community. Jennifer joined Montana Orthopedics in March of 2012 after graduating from the University of Nebraska Medical Center Physician Assistant Program. She is board certified with the National Commission on Certifying Physician Assistants and is affiliated with the AAPA and the Montana Academy of Physician Assistants; additionally, she holds special certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Basic Life Support.
She was a multi-sport athlete in high school, going on to run cross country and track at Idaho State, earning multiple All-Conference awards in the Big Sky conference. Being a lover of all things outdoors and athletic, Jennifer has found a happy home in Butte. During her free time, she can be found playing on the Continental Divide or in the Highland mountains running, biking, rock climbing, Nordic skiing, and back country skiing. Along with assisting Dr. Gallagher in clinic, she assists with outpatient surgery at Summit Surgery Center, inpatient surgery at St. James Hospital, and orthopedic emergency services in the St. James emergency department. Additionally, Jennifer volunteers with Montana Sports Medicine helping with high school and collegiate athletics.
Ginny is the dedicated medical assistant for Dr. Gallagher’s patients. Ginny works closely with Dr. Gallagher and Jennifer Heglund to ensure that all patient’s needs are met.
